I hope that you all had a wonderful and rejuvenating weekend.

Highlights of the Week

The class met Nora, our rooftop garden coordinator on Monday, who helped conclude our unit on bees by having the students clean garden beds, taste honey and plant pollinator bulbs.

The class is now working on a small book about bees that will show what they have learned and will be included in their portfolio's during conferences.

Middle School Buddies
We met our middle school buddies at Patton Park this week and played together on a sunny fall day.

Why do the Seasons Change??
We have been talking about seasonal change and what is the relationship between the earth and the sun.
The class will continue to study seasonal change, discover why leaves change color and learn about artist Andy Goldsworthy.

To clear up some confusion students will be sent home with a folder and homework on Monday. Students will then return the work the following Monday. I will send corrected work home on Monday and any additional information.  This week I will put a signature sheet in the folder so I know that a parent/adult has seen the work.

Upcoming Events/ Reminders:

Our 2/3 Potluck and Storyline launch is tomorrow from 3:30-5:00 at Patton Park.
